June 12, 2015

I can't believe how quickly the time is passing! We're beginning to wind down and have focused on Literacy/Science and Math this week. A reminder to parents, next week is our swimming experience week. Please make sure your child has underwear and a towel (along with their swimwear) each day. Please don't send shampoo as there won't be time to shampoo in the showers. Girls should bring a hair tie for swimming.

Jim and the Bees

We had our Calgary Reads volunteer, Jim, come by the school to give our classes a fabulous presentation on bees, their life cycle and the impact they have on our world! We even had a taste-tasting of honey with bee's that fed on nectars of different plants (canola pollen vs. wildflowers)

Literacy & Science

This week our students have been working hard on PowerPoint Presentations about a Creepy Crawly Thing and some expository writing (currently in drafting) to create a book.

Math

This week in Math we have continued to explore standard and non-standard measurement with length, height, mass and time.
