Literacy:
This week in literacy we've been journaling using prompts such as: What we like to do on a rainy day, My favorite Stuffie, Ways I Care for Myself and reflecting on our Terry Fox experience this year.
Our emerging readers and writers are making basic connections to how print conveys meaning. They understand that although their writing may not make sense quite yet, it does hold meaning.
Home Reading:
Just a note, Home Reading books go home at the start of the week and come back at the end of the week. These books are kept at home for you to practice and read with your child.
Math:
This week in math we've been learning about what 'cores' of patterns are, pattern attributes and how to translate patterns (i.e. blue, blue, green, red is the same as circle, circle, square, triangle is the same as AABC)

Science:
We've continued to discuss seasonal changes and their impact on our lives and world.
We've also completed a task from a Beakerhead challenge! Our challenge this year was Larger than Life using Alumnimn foil.
Our class took that theme and went with: The Sky and Above. Check out some of their work below.

Social Studies:
We've been looking at mapping skills, what purpose maps serve and have looked at how we can make a map of our classroom.
