Literacy
Students have worked hard to finish their autobiographies this week. Students have also been looking at their oral presentation skills through putting together a "Heart-Healthy" presentation though the work we have been doing with the Heart and Stroke Foundations, Jump Rope for Heart.

Math
We continue to examine addition and subtraction problem solving. Students who have a strong handle on these concepts have been working on addition and subtraction games, while I have been working with small groups to target the specific needs of students who still are working towards securing their understandings of adding and subtracting.
Social Studies
We had our field trip to Heritage Park on Wednesday where we explored what life was like in the past! Thank you to all the parent volunteers who came out for that.
Science
We finished our unit on senses with looking at hearing. We completed some experiments to test our sense of hearing, including what happens when we can only use one ear to hear.
We explored safety in hearing by protecting our ears to dangerous noise levels. Students explored with looking at the decibel levels of different classroom noises, as well as what could be considered dangerous (i.e. lawnmowers, jackhammers, jet planes).
