This week in Literacy we've finished publishing our story books. They'll be on display for the class to enjoy leading up to student-led conferences.
We've also been looking at self-esteem through our writing, The Best Part of Me, a book by Wendy Ewald. Our work is up in the main lobby of the school, please come by and check it out.
We've also had Quest Theatre today for a performance of Snow Angel.
Math
This week in math we've continued to practice our subtraction skills (to 100 for grade 2's and to 20 for grade 1's). Student's have made good connections and are beginning to feel comfortable with subtraction.
Science
This week in science we've continued to investigate building things. Student's look at how to create doors for structures, as well as exploring with found materials to create structures. Student's have also brought all their structures in! What amazing work went into creating them. Mr. Williams had a great time coming to view them all and speak to the children about their work.
We've continued to look at different types of urban communities such as industrial urban, commercial urban and sub-urban communities.
