This week in literacy, we continued with word work and guided reading centers. Before the break, students were working on a retelling of traditional tales, such as: Goldilocks and the Three Bears, The Boy Who Cried Wolf and The Three Little Pigs.
Math
This week we've continued to look at addition and subtraction skills, applied word problems and mental math skills.
Science
This week we started a new unit in Boats and Buoyancy. We explored putting different materials in water to see if it would float or sink. We also looked at putting bottles filled with air and water into water to see its effects.
Mr. Careclakis met with Jody Danchuck from City Hall School to discuss how we'll be moving forward in teaching and learning to prepare for Open Minds.
Physical Education
We've had gym outside this week, as our gym is being used for Opera practices. This week we learned how to play kickball.

This week we've had some planning sessions around costumes and practiced with Ms. MacPhail.
