Forms for City Hall School went home this week. Please make sure to sign the waiver and the Media Release Consent form (for the City of Calgary). Parent volunteers, a set of blue forms went home with your child. Please fill those out and return them back with your child.
Literacy
This week in literacy we've continued to look at procedural writing. This week, we've looked at recipes! We looked at writing recipes for smoothies, muffins, sandwiches. We had a bit of fun with recipe writing by creating a "Perfectly Disgusting Sandwich".
Math
In math this week, students have continued to explore and sort 3D shapes based on shapes, edges and faces. Student's have had ICT opportunities to explore creating and examining other types of shapes. Grade 1's have had some 1-on-1 time with me for formal assessments in math. Next week we'll continue with shapes while grade 2's have assessments with me.
Social Studies
This week we completed two walks to Confederation Park to explore and assess the park as a public space. Student's had a great time exploring the walk and making great connections to nature (and how natures sights and sounds are beautiful).Thank you to all the volunteers who were able to join us.
