Jody Danchuck from City Hall School came to visit our class today. She talked to us about what to expect next week, being a good leader, what are interests were and lots of other things.
It's important to dress for the weather while at City Hall School. Remember that we will be doing a lot of walking outdoors. We should have sunscreen, a hat, a sweater (because it gets chilly in the cast of the shadows of the tall buildings) as well as comfortable shoes and a water bottle. Jody mentioned that we should bring extra snacks as we'll be busy moving all day.
You must be here at 9:00 am as we leave the school promptly each morning. We will return around 3:00 pm each day.
We've been working very hard to prepare for City Hall! As a whole group, we created some insightful questions to ask Cllr. Farrell as well as Mayor Nenshi for our meetings with them next week. We're quite excited!
Literacy
This week in literacy we finished off our "Perfectly Disgusting Sandwich" recipes! You can check out the finished product on the display outside our classroom. We also had a chance to put our comprehension skills to the test by following a pancake recipe to create. We had lots of fun making pancakes! Thanks to Mrs. Dewart for helping us with that.
Math
In math this I completed summative 1-to-1 assessments with the grade 2's this week. We explored solving tangram shape puzzles. Here's one you can do at home:
