This week in literacy we've completed our circle story books. We're going to keep them around to share with other students in our class and school next week, but watch for them to come at spring break!
Student's have been also working on their oral storytelling skills - body language, eye contact, voice and imagination. We've been working closely with Jeff Stockton in our oral storytelling journey. I'm really excited to see the end product. Student's have been really engaged with him!

Math
This week in math we've been looking at the concept of area. Student's have been investigating "covering up" objects with nonstandard measurements.

Social Studies
We've continued to look at the impact Ukrainians have made in our country. We've been looking at Ukrainian traditions and culture such as food, dance, music, language and artistry.
We had the chance this week to have a Ukrainian meal of perogies and cabbage rolls in class. Students created their own perogies by scratch! A huge thank you to our parent volunteers who made this possible.

We've also been looking at the tradition and artistry of the pysanky eggs. Students learned about the art and symbolism behind the pysanky egg and created their own! A huge thanks to our volunteers who came out to help with this (and more importantly - blow the eggs out!)
