February 20, 2015 - 100th Day!

What a great week we've had in Room 2! Today was our 100th Day of School! To celebrate, student's wrote about what they would be like at 100 years old (and even had a handy little 'aged' picture to go with it) and completed 100 exercises in gym, 100 addition math and other activities related to 100!

Literacy

This week we've been learning about the story cycle. We read the book The Plot Chickens to help us understand the basic story cycle and how we develop a story. Together as a class we created our own story, check it out!

Math

We've continued to practice addition and subtraction in math this week and building mental math skills in adding/subtracting.

Science

This week in Science in Building Things we've been looking at creating a toy that moves. Students have been learning about different types of fasteners and how we use them to build things. Students created moving puppets using cardstock and brad fasteners. Check them out!

Social Studies

We've finally finished our community map! We've tucked it away to display in all it's glory during conferences at the end of March!
